Connection to server failure on checkout

Nov 19, 2009 at 9:16 AM

I am trying to perform a first checkout of the source files for the fleXdoc project using TortoiseSVN. I get the following error message:

"OPTIONS of '': could not connect to server ("

I want to compile the code in order to be able to include the dll file for the api in my project. I suppose I have to download and compile the source code in order to be able to do that. Please correct me if I'm wrong, and provide advice if there is some other way for me to accomplish this.

Best regards,

I found a solution to my compilation issue of the flexdoc.api.dll file. Instead of checking out code from the source safe base mentioned in my original post above, I downloaded the source code from the "Source Code" found at the top of this page. I tried doing this earlier, but could not compile the project due to the compiler not being able to locate the keyfile owned by the author of the project.

I removed the attached keyfile from my projects, and created my own keyfile following the advice given in this article:

After doing this, I was able to compile the solution without errors, and the flexdoc.api.dll file appeared in the \debug folder. :-)

Problems with connecting to the Codeplex source control repository must be addressed to Codeplex themselves. I can't help you with that. Also: I use the VS Team Explorer myself, don't know much about SVN.

You will not be able to check out files, since you're not a developer on the fleXdoc-team. To simple compile the code yourself, you will indeed need to download the sources and open them locally.
